Welcome

The Church of St Mary and St Peter has stood in the beautiful coastal valley of Salcombe Regis for 900 years and is a repository of centuries of local history.

The Friends of Salcombe Regis Church was set up to ensure its continued survival for generations to come.

About Us

The Friends of Salcombe Regis Church (FoSRC) is a secular society that raises funds through membership fees, donations and events.

As well as contributing to the maintenance of the ancient fabric of the building, it generates projects which celebrate the Church’s place in our local history and heritage.

In recent years, FoSRC has undertaken projects such as the installation of a stained glass roundel to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, and has engaged with the history of the parish, producing guides to the church and to the graves of some of the more notable figures that rest here, including the scientist and astronomer, Norman Lockyer, and the architect, R W Sampson, who gave Sidmouth many of its most iconic buildings.

Every major project is approved at an Annual General Meeting before work is carried out. Members receive regular reports on the use of their resources.
